Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is reportedly being eyes for a return to English football next season, as he continues to build his managerial career.
The Spaniard is currently in charge of Serie A side Como, having become manager last summer. The side currently sit in 13th place in the league, having won 10 of their 33 games.
On Saturday, they recorded a 3-1 win over Lecce to extend their winning run to three straight games.
Fabregas has been praised for the job he has done with the Italian club, and it has led to some talk of interest from other clubs, including AS Roma and Milan.
Fabregas brushed off those links during a press conference last week. “Nobody called me. I repeat that I am focused only on Como,” he said.
“With [Como president] Suwarso I am honest. We want to build on what we started.”
That has not however stopped his name being linked with jobs, with a club in England the latest said to be keeping an eye on the 37-year-old.
Following the confirmation of their relegation back to the Championship on Sunday, following a 1-0 defeat against Liverpool, the Telegraph report that Leicester City will hold talks with Ruud van Nistelrooy over his future this week.
If they decide to make a change then some potential targets have already been reportedly identified. Fabregas is one of three managers to have ‘support’ from some of the hierarchy at Leicester, along with former Southampton boss Russell Martin and Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl.
Fabregas made a total of 303 Premier League appearances for both Arsenal and Chelsea during his time in England. He joined the Gunners from Barcelona as a youngster in 2023, before leaving for the same club in 2011.
Three years later he returned to the Premier League with Chelsea before moving to Monaco in January 2019.
