From May 22 to May 25, Port Stephens two local libraries will have free access to more than 20 sessions and can expect to hear from international stars such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid's Jeff Kinney and legendary crime novelist Ian Rankin.
There is also something for the kids, including Jeff Kinney's hot mess show for children aged between 7 and 12 years old.
Artistic director of the Sydney Writers' Festival Ann Mossop said the event will bring together international guests and Australian writers to Sydney.
"Our live and local program allows people from Port Stephens to the opposite side of the country in Western Australia to join in via live stream," she said.
When it comes to putting the annual festival together, Ms Mossop said the idea of sharing the event with as many people as possible is very important.
"This is a way to not only experience and hear from some of the writers but a way for people to get together in their communities," she said.
Livestream attendees can expect to hear from writers, journalists and historians and Ms Mossop said it's an opportunity to hear from a bunch of people talk about their work.
"Our program is very diverse and features the most amazing literary writers but also includes people talking about topics such as three of Australia's most amazing bakers," she said.
"There is a huge range and I really encourage people to have a look at what's on in their local area and see if there's something they're interested in."
