Churchville man arrested on 25 charges: child pornography, sexual contact with animal

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - A Churchville man is facing 25 felony counts after an investigation that began on March 20.

At that time, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (SOVA ICAC) Task Force about 25-year-old Bobby A. Clinedinst, regarding the possible possession of child pornography. Investigators initiated an investigation that led to the discovery of digital evidence.

21 felony warrants for possession of child pornography and four felony counts of sexual contact with an animal were issued for Clinedinst as a result of the investigation. He was taken into custody without incident at the Augusta County Courthouse on April 22 .

“This case is another example of the ongoing collaboration between law enforcement agencies to protect children from exploitation,” Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith said. “We are grateful for the assistance of the SOVA ICAC Task Force and remain committed to thoroughly investigating these serious offenses.”

Clinedinst is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond, and the investigation remains ongoing.

  • 21 counts: Possession of child pornography (18.2-374.1:1)
