OGDENSBURG, New York (WWNY) - An Ogdensburg woman faces weapons charges in the wake of a March standoff in the city.

According to court documents, 45-year-old Melissa Gordon of 432 Oak Street is a convicted felon accused of possessing an AK-47 style assault rifle and large capacity magazines.

City police were initially called to 432 Oak Street in March for a report that a man was threatening to shoot a woman. The standoff ended after an hour.

The next day, police returned to the home to execute a search warrant. They said they seized two shotguns and one assault rifle.

At the time, 45-year-old Melissa Gordon was arrested on three bench warrants and turned over to the sheriff’s office.

Now, Ogdensburg police have charged her with four felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to court documents, Gordon has a 2011 forgery conviction.

Gordon continues to be held in the St. Lawrence County jail.
