OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has arrested a man for possession of child pornography and images depicting animal sexual activity.

It all started on January 23, 2025, when the Alachua Police Department (APD) received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The tip suggested that a bunch of files depicting child sexual abuse material were uploaded to a social media network.

APD determined that 38-year-old Alvin Lee Cornick was responsible for uploading the images.

After figuring out that he lives in Marion County, the case was passed to the MCSO.

Detectives discovered that Cornick had uploaded a total of 22 files depicting either child sexual abuse or bestiality.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Cornick’s arrest based on the findings.

On April 17, authorities located Cornick operating his vehicle in the vicinity of SE Highway 464C and SE 112th Place. Following a traffic stop, officers successfully took Cornick into custody without incident.

Authorities transported Cornick to the Marion County Jail. He remains there without bond.

Cornick is currently being charged with 17 counts of Possession of Video or Image Depicting Animal Sexual Activity and four counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
