Why Man United legend Roy Keane is not at Anfield for Liverpool title celebrations on Sky Sports
Manchester United icon Roy Keane will not be at Anfield this afternoon as Liverpool look set to wrap up the Premier League title
Manchester United legend Roy Keane will not be at Anfield this evening to see Liverpool win their 20th league title against Tottenham Hotspur.
Arne Slot's men need just a solitary point at home to their lowly opposition to seal the Premier League title at a canter. Should they finish the job today, as is expected, the Reds and their fierce rivals will be level for the number of English top flight titles won in their history.
Due to their broadcasting obligations, a number of United icons will be in attendance at Anfield for what could be a historic occasion. Peter Schmeichel and Jaap Stam are there as is Gary Neville who has already admitted that he will not be going pitchside should Liverpool win the title.
But one ex-player who is notably absent is Keane. The former United captain is a regular on Sky Sports' Super Sunday and some of their other Premier League broadcasts.
However, Keane will be at Wembley Stadium this afternoon watching one of his other former clubs - Nottingham Forest. The East Midlands club take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals with the winner set to take on Crystal Palace next month.
Keane will be part of ITV Sport's broadcasting team alongside Ian Wright and Joleon Lescott for the fixture.
Throughout the FA Cup, the former Irish international has been working with ITV on their FA Cup coverage and due to the importance of that fixture, Keane has managed to avoid having a front row seat for Liverpool's expected celebrations.
