MM 5.5: Maryland men’s basketball adds commitment from Spanish guard

Maryland men’s basketball earned the commitment of Spanish guard Guillermo Del Pino Friday, according to Jon Rothstein.

Del Pino, 18, is an unrated prospect from Spain. He is listed at 6-foot-4 and 155 pounds.

Last season with Córdoba CB in the Segunda FEB league, he averaged 10.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 22 games.

In seven games at the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, Del Pino averaged 11 points, two rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

The Spanish guard took home the 2023 FIBA U16 Basketball World Cup MVP, averaging 14.6 points, along with 1.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists.

Del Pino is the 10th player to join Buzz Williams in College Park and the second high school recruit, alongside Darius Adams.
