Dates set for The New Zealand International Wine Show 2025

The dates have now been set for New Zealand’s largest wine Show.

Now in its 21st year, the NZ International Wine Show awards more medals to New Zealand wines than any other competition.

In the 2024 competition, the judges – with more years of judging experience than any other judging team in the country – awarded New Zealand’s wines 36 Double Gold Medals and 152 Gold Medals.

Unique to the New Zealand International is the seven-person recall judging system.

This process sees all the high-scoring wines in the initial judging line up to be reconsidered and rated by the seven senior judges.

Entries will open in June, other relevant dates for this year’s competition include:

Entries close: 29 August
Closing date for receipt of wine samples: 10 September
Set up day: 15 September
Judging dates: 16 – 18 September
Wineries notification of results: 22 September
Embargo lifted on medal results: 22 September
Awards Event: 17 October
Trophy results available online: 18 October
Champion list public tastings: Dates TBC
