Denzel Aberdeen Kentucky Transfer Portal Player Breakdown

If you didn’t have your head on a swivel, you may have hurt your neck when you heard that Denzel Aberdeen was transferring to Kentucky.

The Sixth Man on the Florida Gators’ run to a National Championship is leaving Gainesville after three years to play for Mark Pope. He only averaged 7.7 points in 20 minutes per game for Florida, but the stats don’t tell the entire story. That’s why we brought in KSR’s Brandon Ramsey and Zack Geoghegan to break down what he’s bringing to Kentucky.

What makes Aberdeen so valuable is that he’s not a specialist. He can serve as a secondary ball-handler and play point guard in a pinch, or step in at the 3-spot and use his length and physicality to guard small forwards.

This addition isn’t just about the physical tools in his arsenal. Aberdeen is bringing a winning mentality to the Kentucky locker room.

“He’s coming here with a big, fat, giant ring, and there’s no way to replace that type of experience,” Mark Pope said recently. “And he’s a beautiful kid, man, like spending time with his parents was really special. Comes from a military family background, and he cares about people, and he’s an incredibly talented basketball player.”

Let the KSR dynamic duo dive deeper into what the tape says about Denzel Aberdeen.
