The Orange County Sports Commission will host its first OC Sports Awards on Tuesday at Angel Stadium.

The event was organized to “honor the region’s outstanding athletic talent and accomplishments of athletes and figures who have significantly impacted Orange County’s sports community.”

Among the honorees are the late Gene Autry (Legacy Award), Jessie Rees Foundation (Philanthropist of the Year), Kelly Slater (ICON Award) and Scott Boras (Lifetime Achievement).

Olympic surfing gold medalist Caroline Marks is the Female Professional Athlete of the year. Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman is Male Professional Athlete of the Year.

Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart is the show’s host.

Awards will be given also to Orange County male and female high school athletes of the year.
