Pastor Kanyari mourns staunch congregant

The man of God documented the experience on social media, where he shared emotional moments from the event.

Kanyari described Cucu Kasivu as a cherished member of his church community, one whom many at Njiru Salvation Healing Ministry affectionately referred to as 'shosho.'

The funeral ceremony took place at her rural home in Tala, attracting large crowds who came to honour the woman’s life and legacy.

During the funeral, the preacher took time to reflect on the impact Cucu had made in his ministry and in the lives of fellow congregants.

In a moving tribute, Kanyari addressed the mourners, expressing his condolences and making a generous donation to the family.

"I have expressed my sincere condolences to the family and community of Agnes, whom we loved dearly here in Njiru... I have brought this KSh 40,000, and others will add more so that it amounts to KSh 100,000," he said, drawing cheers from the crowd as he handed the cash to her kin.

However, what moved many the most was what followed.

According to TikToker Kawira, a close associate of the preacher, Kanyari went beyond words by footing all hospital bills and taking in Cucu’s children to support them going forward.

"He helped with all the hospital bills and also took in the woman’s children to support them," Kawira told TUKO.co.ke.

While funerals are often solemn, Kasivu’s send-off turned into a celebration of life, with mourners enjoying a well-organised lunch session.

In his social media post, the preacher shared photos of the event and wrote:

"Cucu Kasivu's burial ceremony was very colourful. Cucu we loved you very much. May your soul rest in peace."

Kanyari’s gesture was widely praised by those in attendance and his online followers.

Here are some of their comments:

Kenneth Onyango:

"Today, as we lay shosh to rest in Tala, our hearts are heavy with sorrow. She was a devoted follower of Prophet Kanyari, and even in her final journey, the Prophet's support to her family has spoken volumes—an act of love that echoes the bond between a shepherd and his flock. Though she is gone, her faith lives on. Rest in peace, dear shosh."

Judy Munene:

"Pole Sana. May her soul find rest."

Rachel Muiruri:

"Pole kwa familia and the entire church, RIP shosh."

Jeddy Mwendwa Mugendi:

Did Kanyari give out cash?

In yet another heartwarming gesture, Pastor Kanyari extended kindness to his followers.

Clips shared on his Instagram page captured him behind the wheel of a Toyota SUV, accompanied by a female passenger.

As they navigated a rough, rural road, Kanyari reached for a bundle of cash, mostly in KSh 50 and KSh 100 notes, and began distributing the money to those who approached his car.
