Sustainable energy grants of €500k on offer for community groups around Limerick

CHARITY and community groups across Limerick are being urged to apply for sustainable energy upgrade grants, of which there has been half-a-million euro allocated nationally.

€500,000 in funding is for sustainable energy upgrades, specifically to help future-proof community buildings across Ireland, has been announced by SE Systems, a leading national provider of energy solutions.

Launched in 2022, previous recipients from Limerick include: Limerick Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP), Rape Crisis Midwest Limerick, Mungret St. Paul's GAA and Knockea National School.

The closing date for applications is Friday, July 18.

Over the last three years, a total budget of over €2.6m has been awarded by SE Systems to local community projects to date.

The SE Systems Community Fund is an independent fund that helps non-profits, charities and voluntary organisations benefit from projects that improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, from solar panel systems and heat pump installation to insulation upgrades.

“This collaborative approach allows us to redirect private sector investment into community-based energy projects, supporting grassroots organisations across Ireland in achieving their sustainable energy ambitions.”
